Embark on an enriching journey to become a skilled commercial claims analyst with the Riverstone Analyst Development (RAD) Program. Designed for driven individuals who have some experience in the insurance industry, this intensive training and development program is your stepping stone to a flourishing career in commercial insurance claims.
The program is broken into four areas of focus:
CLASSROOM EDUCATION
An immersive classroom-style introduction to commercial insurance analysis, delivered virtually and in-person. Gain theoretical knowledge, and prepare for licensing and certification exams.
PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION
A well-rounded package of resources to support your success at Riverstone. This includes mentorship and career guidance,
in-depth onboarding training, and exposure to claim-handling best practices. You will also get a comprehensive introduction to our company culture.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
Hands-on learning through practicum and skills-based training, covering areas such as coverage analysis, letter and report writing, negotiation, and settlement valuation.
ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibility of managing real claims. Develop your skills directly in the field, assisted and supervised by a supportive team of in-house experts.
What You Can Expect From Us
At Riverstone, our in-house subject matter experts will guide you through a curriculum that covers a broad range of topics. These include:
- Claim investigation, analysis and valuation
- Commercial general liability and first-party property coverage analysis
- Corporate finance and reserve philosophies
- Approaches to presenting claims to senior management
- Customer service
- Negotiation and alternative dispute resolution
- Litigation management
- Complex specialty claims
- Reinsurance
What We Expect From You
Reporting to both the Insurance Education Manager and a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for handling real-life claims – investigating liability and damages, evaluating coverage, managing litigation, and resolving cases.
You will also be expected to:
- Apply claims-handling best practices
- Pass relevant state licensing exams
- Earn an AIC (Associate In Claims) designation

Program Requirements
Though the RAD Program is primarily virtual, it also includes four non-consecutive, week-long in-person sessions at Riverstone’s offices in Manchester, New Hampshire, and Long Island, New York. This practice enhances our standard remote work expectation with in-person mentoring and coaching that cannot be duplicated online.
